So this is what happens to an artist if someone really makes her think about herself. Reflections on childhood memories and embracement of the challenges inspire the character to love and care for others in better ways.
Her inner child or shadow self is someone she learned to love, rather than be afraid of. She no longer thinks being on her own is the solution to everything.

To quote Adele's lyrics from her song To Be Loved:
"I'll never learn if I never leap. I'll always yearn if I never speak."
